Travel Instructions

The RMT Union has announced that rail workers in the UK will go on strike for one day on 27 July. 
This will likely cause difficulties in travelling to Gregynog on 27 July.

By train
  • The nearest railway station is Newtown (Powys). There is a direct train connection from Birmingham to Newtown that takes 2 hours. 
  • Taxis are available at Newtown for the journey to Gregynog which is a distance of approximately 6 miles.

Routes From The South
  • From Gatwick airport, shuttle to Victoria, underground to Euston, train to Birmingham then Newtown.
  • From Heathrow airport, take Heathrow Express or underground to Euston, then train to Birmingham, then Newtown.

By car
  • For participants travelling by car the grounds of Gregynog Hall are entered through a gateway which is on the main road through the village of Tregynon. Parking is available at the Hall. If using a mobile phone app for navigation then please be aware that mobile phone reception in the area is patchy.

By air
  • The nearest airports are Manchester and Birmingham. 
  • For arrivals at Birmingham airport, take the train from Birmingham International with no changes to Newtown. 
  • Taxis are available at Newtown for the journey to Gregynog which is a distance of approximately 6 miles.
